The recent rise in popularity of dragons is funny because half of it is because of Game of Thrones and half of it is because of How To Train Your Dragon so all these dragon posts are going around and you never know which fandom you’re gonna brush shoulders with it’s like walking into a dragon’s lair and not knowing if you’re gonna get this

or this

either way, though, you get dead dads

Get out.

So I’m Jewish and today I went back to my temple for the first time in a while because my little sister was graduating from Hebrew school…
And I realized I had completely forgotten how amazingly queer-friendly it is. When I had my bat mitzvah they let me have a big portion of my speech be me saying I don’t agree with the Torah/bible saying being gay is wrong, they have a lesbian rabbi, an all genders bathrooms and a rainbow flag outside the congregation.

Just wanted to give an example of a religious institution doing something right :)

beautiful!

YOU FORGOT HARLEY’S REACTION TO THAT, ASKING IF SHE MEANS LIKE HOW PEOPLE SAY BATGIRL AND SUPERGIRL ARE FRIENDS

THEN BATGIRL CHANGES THE SUBJECT

SUPER LESBIANS DESERVE THEIR OWN SUPER SHOW

He also:

  • told Neville to stand up to people
  • confronted a full-sized mountain troll to save a girl he couldn’t stand
  • said it didn’t matter whether someone was a pureblood, half-blood, or Muggle-born
  • gave Dobby his sweater
  • faced a bunch of giant spiders in the hopes of saving the school and clearing Hagrid’s name
  • told Luna he loved her Quidditch commentary, and very sincerely tried to convince her he wasn’t teasing her
  • stood up on a broken leg, trying to protect Harry
  • gave up his grudge against Hermione the moment he learned how much she, Hagrid, and Buckbeak needed him
  • realized he was wrong about Harry putting his name in the Goblet of Fire, and promptly went to apologize
  • jumped into a freezing pond to save Harry and retrieve the Sword of Gryffindor
  • confronted his best friend to prevent his sister’s heart being broken any further than it already was
  • begged Bellatrix to torture him in place of Hermione
  • couldn’t break up with a girl who drove him nuts because he didn’t want to hurt her feelings
  • remembered the Hogwarts House Elves when no one else did, and wanted to make them evacuate, rather than order them to fight
  • tried to go back to Harry and Hermione as soon as he left them
  • didn’t make excuses for leaving, he came right out and admitted he had been wrong
  • didn’t get angry at Hermione for taking a long time to forgive him
  • saved Tonks’s life (while impersonating Harry to lower Harry’s chances of being killed, at the same time increasing his own)
  • told Hermione not to curse Draco, even though he hates him

In conclusion, Ron is awesome. The end.

and he put his shoes and socks on dobby to be buried in because he knew how much dobby loved clothes. disliking ron weasley’s character makes 0 sense.

Scales

This is because Fahrenheit is based on a brine scale and the human body. The scale is basically how cold does it have to be to freeze saltwater (zero Fahrenheit) to what temperature is the human body (100-ish Fahrenheit, although now we know that’s not exactly accurate). Fahrenheit was designed around humans.Celsius and Kelvin are designed around the natural world.Celsius is a scale based on water. Zero is when water freezes, 100 is when water boils.Kelvin uses the same scale as Celsius (one degree, as a unit, is the same between the two), but defines zero as absolute zero, which is basically the temperature at which atoms literally stop doing that spinning thing. Nothing can exist below zero Kelvin. It’s the bottom of the scale.So.Fahrenheit: what temperatures affect humansCelsius: what temperatures affect waterKelvin: what temperatures affect atoms

Why didn’t my science teachers ever see fit to toss off this little fact?
